Lea Kassir

Hi everyone! My name is Lea Kassir and I’m heading into my third year as a Biology major. I’m excited to serve as Treasurer for AMWA this year. I joined because I loved the idea of being part of a supportive community of women in the same field, all sharing opportunities and experiences that help us grow on the premed and medical path.

My dream is to become a plastic surgeon, focusing on reconstructive surgeries to help patients heal and regain confidence after traumatic events or illness. Right now, I volunteer at a hospital, where I get to help in different areas—sometimes in the gift shop, other times in the maternity unit. I am also a part of Scout, In which every week we go to local schools in Los Angeles and teach young children science experiments!

When I’m not studying or volunteering, you’ll probably find me sculpting or spending time with friends. I’m really looking forward to this year and can’t wait to connect with all the new members!
