Anna Woo

Anna is a senior majoring in Human Biology, minoring in Global Health, and specializing in Applied Analytics at the University of Southern California. She currently serves as AMWA’s VP of Events. After graduating, she plans to take a gap year before applying to medical school. During her gap year, she plans to work in healthcare as an ER tech or ER scribe while continuing her global health research. Ultimately, she aims to work in global emergency medicine. Anna has been a part of USC AMWA for three years, serving as a member, volunteer and fundraising coordinator, and now VP of Events. As a first-generation premedical student, she joined AMWA to be part of a supportive and collaborative community. Throughout her time in AMWA, she has loved seeing how the organization empowers future women in medicine to reach their full potential. Outside of AMWA, Anna dedicates time to her research lab, where she focuses on global health topics in Sub-Saharan African countries. She also volunteers as a clinical volunteer and serves as a Crisis Text Line counselor. In her free time, she enjoys yoga classes and cafe or bar hopping. For incoming members, Anna advises taking full advantage of all the opportunities AMWA offers, especially the chance to connect with women physicians. This year, she is passionate about providing AMWA members with a wealth of resources and opportunities through various events and sharing her experiences with prospective members!
